Autoblog has some cool cartech from Visteon

"Finally, there was the pièce de résistance: The Next Generation Cockpit concept. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take photographs or video, but the system was powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 3D graphics chipset, which predictably provides phenomenal graphics performance for 3D navigation, but also results in some particularly flashy dials and gauges." Navigon's GPS iPhone app to provide real-time traffic updates

The cartech blog details Navigon's latest roadmap and costs.
------------------------------------------------
"This is going to be the third major update for the app. The first and the second updates added the capability to dial up a point of interest from within the app and also added a text-to-speech feature. When available, this third update will make the application the most complete GPS navigation app for the iPhone.

However, there's a catch. As expected, this upcoming update will not be free, rather it will cost another $25 via an in-app purchase, on top of the current $90 price tag for the app itself. "

Better Place creates software for managing your driving juice

I know it's a sector with some big hills to climb, but I'm really encouraged by the speed of innovation in the EV industry. Clean and connected cars..perfect.

-------------------------------------------

"Code-named AutOS, Better Place's software alerts drivers to a car battery's charge status and points them to battery charging spots and swapping stations in the company's network."

"..the system can tell a driver that there's a battery swapping spot nearby. If the driver ignores the alert, it will adjust and offer other options, such as other charge spot or swapping spots, and tell drivers how they can go with the current charge."

Mazda's MX-5 Miata, the antitech car {what a good headline}

And the base model is under $23K...
--------------------------------------------------------
"The result is a car, that while sparse on the tech front, is such a joy to drive that it still managed to win over every editor who took a turn behind the wheel, making the Mazda MX-5 roadster one of the best low-tech cars...in the world."
